My Love for Media As A Child

My love for the media started a longtime ago but i never paid attention to it. I grew up a shy little boy though i love to talk but couldn't express myself in public for fear of grammatical blunders. I fell in love with radio as a young child (i will share about my experience at the radio house soon). I bought a palito with my 20 naira pocket money and i listened to it everyday with a little obsession. A palito is radio player that comes very handy. Below is a picture of a palito.  I also went ahead to own a tape recorded and with it, i made a lot of damage on my dad's tapes. I started recording on every tape i laid my hands on. How i moved abroad

Sometime ago,my uncle told my mum that it was impossible to raise responsible children in the environment i grew up.I look like an ‘aje butter'(to my non Nigerian readers 'aje butter' means a rich kid,thanks to my cute face) but grew up in a place i can call the photocopy of ‘ajegunle’(a place described as a slum).  Looking at the environment from a distance,we look calm and collected but when you delve into the lifestyle of the people living there,it is a different story especially with the children i grew up with. I can recall a teenage girl getting pregnant and couldn’t point a finger to who got her pregnant not because she was raped.She was a ‘public staff’. All i can remember is how quick the so called responsible bachelors started relocating from the neighborhood in order for the teenage girl not to rob them in.It was quite pathetic.
